The Box and Components:
Criss-Cross is a very simple game and the manufacturers have made its packaging and components in such a way that you do not necessarily have to arrange for playing material like pens/pencils for playing the game.
It has nice & smooth dice for the playing purpose. They have pencils and block sheets available, the latter of which are reusable if the players use a pencil to play.
How to Play Criss Cross:
Distribute a single game sheet to all players. The players choose one of the 6 symbols from the die to occupy a single cell on the game sheet.
2 dice are rolled and each player has to draw these symbols into their sheet following very simple rules:
– the two symbols have to be drawn in orthogonally adjacent fields. (Single fields previously surrounded with symbols will never be filled.)
– as long as there are adjacent spaces, the symbols must be entered.
The game ends when the sheets are filled or there are no legal adjacent spaces left. Each row and column are scored separately: 2, 3, 4 or 5 adjacent symbols of the same type score 2, 3, 4, 5 points PLUS 4/5 bonus points for 4/5 symbols.

Reasons to love Criss Cross:
You only need 10 minutes or less to finish the game. Its a simple game with simple rules. It can be played multiple times in a single sitting as the probability of the dice increases the randomness of the game so that the players are always entertained.
In fact, the base game can be played by more than 6 players if the block sheet and stationary are available, so the game has the capacity to be enjoyed by a large group of people. The game can be enjoyed by players of all age groups. The box is small which makes it easy to carry. It is a great retreat game which should be at least tried once by everyone.
