For Sale is a compact game. It has 30 property cards, 30 currency cards, and currency coins. The graphics of For Sale are on par with video games of the same theme. The coins are sturdily made but could have an additional storage space or pouch inside the game box.
How to Play For Sale:
Setup
Separate the Property and Currency Cards and shuffle both decks. Set the Currency Cards aside for later. Place the Property Cards face down as a draw pile. Distribute Coins based on player count: with 3–4 players, give each two $2,000 Coins and fourteen $1,000 Coins; with 5–6 players, give each two $2,000 Coins and ten $1,000 Coins. To balance the game, randomly remove cards: six Property and six Currency Cards for three players, or two of each for four players.
Phase 1: Buying Properties
Reveal Property Cards equal to the number of players and auction them so everyone receives a property. Players bid clockwise, starting with the player in the largest house.
Bidding
Each bid must exceed the previous one until all but one player passes.
Passing
A passing player takes the lowest-value property and reclaims half their bid. The final bidder wins the highest-value property.
Phase 2: Selling Properties
Players secretly play one Property Card, reveal together, and claim Currency Cards in descending order of value.
End of the Game
When all properties are sold, the player with the most total money wins, with ties broken by remaining Coins.
