Minimize by IVAK Games is a strategy-based card game. Ironically, the players compete to have the lowest score among all.
Game Specifications:
Age Group: 7+ Years
No of Players: 2-8
Duration: 5-30 Minutes
Skills to Learn: Strategy, Calculation, Deduction
The Box & Components of Minimize:
The cards come in a thin cardboard box which can be damaged easily. The cards themselves are of high-quality sliding easily across the hands. The makers have also included power cards to make the game more interesting for the players.
The Game:
A single round of Minimize can take as little as 2 minutes to play. It is the scoring system that stretches the game up to 30 minutes. The players always have an option to play individual rounds if they want to avoid the scoring sheet.
Gameplay:
Minimize is played in rounds or can even be played in separate rounds without recording scores. Each round begins with each player having 7 cards and the rest of the cards being placed face-down in the centre of the players.
Step 1: The Player may take any of the following actions in their turns
- Discard a single high-value card
- Discard 2 or more cards of the same value
- Discard cards in a number sequence:
1. Pure Sequence: At least 3 cards if the sequence is in a single colour
2. Impure Sequence: At least 4 cards if the sequence is in different colours
- Declare the lowest value, provided it is less than 7. (This is an optional action, that marks the end of the round)
Step 2: Draw a card from the Draw pile or the last card played by the previous player.
Special Cards:
Minimize also has some special cards that can be used:
Wild Card: Does exactly what it says and can be used to complete sequences or play bluff with other players
I Don’t Pick: The player can skip Step 2 in the middle of the game.
I Discover Now: The player can draw any number card from the discard pile.
I Declare Now: The Player gets the chance to declare his hand value without waiting for the next turn.
My Half Value: The Player’s total hand value is halved.
While all special cards may be played in a single turn, My Half Value should be retained till the end of the round.
Scoring:
The player with the lowest score in each round wins the round.
If the players are recording scores, it proceeds as follows:
1. The player with the lowest hand value gets 0 points.
2. The rest of the players record their hand value as their score.
3. The Player whose total score exceeds 100 loses the game.
Final Words:
Minimize card game is a great game for a party. It can be over anytime so players do not have to take out much time for the game.
HAPPY SHUFFLING!
