SHUFFLE A Board Game Association organised its 2nd Beyond Monopoly Gaming Session for 9- & 10-years old children. The event was attended by 11 kids and presided over by Shuffle Master Apoorva and Shuffle Buddies, Radhika and Gaurav.

The children are given an introduction to Table Top Gaming as part of the session. The organisers were keen to influence children to not only enjoy but also understand tabletop gaming.

The attendees are students of GD Goenka Public School, MG World Vision School, Shardein School, and Holy Angels’ Convent School which are the top schools in Muzaffarnagar. All children were engaged in playing the common games like Ludo, Life, Snake & Ladders and the aim of the event was to introduce them to a wider variety of Tabletop Games.

The games played during the event were:

Right Turn, Left Turn: This was a card game that involves determining the right landmark after going through a series of directions mentioned on the direction cards. This is a small fun game that is capable of developing Direction skills among the children along with training their brains to increase mental activity, particularly in terms of speed.

Blokus: An abstract strategy tile-placement game, Blokus is a 4-player game. The players are supposed to play in a way to exhausts all their tiles while adhering to simple rules. This game focuses on Grid Coverage, Strategic Play, Territory Building, and superior Observation Skills for the players.

Trophies: A word-trivia game, Trophies is an ice-breaking game that can be played by people of all ages. It is immensely enjoyed by all due to its entertaining nature. It is based on the principle of ‘Fastest answer wins’ The players have to be quick on their feet while in learning some new words and facts every time they play the game.

At SHUFFLE, we strive to continue such edutaining events for players of all ages. Games for each event are chosen from a curated list that adheres to the group’s age group and is majorly focused on skill development. We hope to continue organising many such events for our audience.
