SHUFFLE’s Sequence Tournament was one of its kind events held in Muzaffarnagar and, in possibility, INDIA. It was a fun and sporting show of friendly competition in BOARDGAMING!

On the occasion of International Tabletop Day, SHUFFLE- A Board Game Association organised its first-ever intra-city SEQUENCE Tournament for Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.

The event was open to participants from age 9 to age 99, though the maximum participant age was 54.

The special guests for the event were Mr. Sanjay Khiwani, the area manager for Funskool, India, and Mrs. Rinku Goel, the owner and principal of the Mother’s Pride School, Muzaffarnagar.

The event started with a lamp lighting ceremony and introducing the special guests. SHUFFLE also launched its website, www.shufflegames.in presented by Apoorva- Founder, Sonakshi- Graphic Designer and Radhika- Communication and Content Executive of SHUFFLE.

The Sequence Tournament was played in 4 rounds. The winning team on each table proceeded for the next round and the teams broke up for the final round to play individually to become the winner.

These were the winners of the tournament:

Mrs. Rachna Agarwal won the first prize of the 2 player game Jaipur.

Mr. Utkarsh Singhal won the second prize of Kingdominos.

Ms. Sannvi Bindal won the third prize of Grand Bois.

A Rapid Games section was set up for the participants, where they could play shorter, fun card and tabletop games. This section was handled by a team of SHUFFLE Buddies and supervised by Ishita. This section was exceedingly popular among the attendees.

The Rapid Games included Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza, Chameleon, Right Turn Left Turn, Jenga, Firepucks, Mikado Sticks, Grab and many more.

Participants could buy over 70 games displayed, many of which were introduced by SHUFFLE in various workshops held over 5 months at the SHUFFLE Store. A collection of international games was also displayed at the store. There was also an open-ended play display headed by Mrs. Manvi.

The participants also purchased personalized stationery, wrapping sheets, travel tags and more designed by Creatives by Sonakshi.

Mr. Khiwani said, “This was the first of its kind event that I have ever heard about in North India.”

The Sequence Tournament was a celebration of International Tabletop Day. SHUFFLE has sought to re-introduce tabletop games and form a board gaming culture, and such events are a successful step forward towards the goal.
